Côte-Saint-Luc is a city in the Montréal region of southern Quebec, Canada, on the Île de Montréal (Montreal Island). It is a western (mostly residential) Montreal suburb. The name was given to hunting land owned by the seigneurs of Île de Montréal in the 17th century. Côte Saint-Luc is a big, self-contained suburb wedged between Montreal West, Hampstead, and NDG on the western outskirts of downtown Montreal. Montreal train yards encircle the neighborhood to the northwest and down to its southern border.
