Saint-Georges is a city in Quebec’s province. It is the administrative centre of the Beauce-Sartigan Regional County Municipality, which is located within the Chaudière-Appalaches region. According to the 2011 Census of Canada, the population was 31,173. Route 173 passes through Saint-Georges Est (where it is known as Boulevard Lacroix) before heading south to the Maine-USA border.
Saint-Georges is the name of the parish and the city in honour of George Pozer, the fourth seigneur of Aubert-Gallion. The 118th Street headquarters of the Beauce-Etchemin School Board (Commission scolaire de la Beauce-Etchemin). The Cégep Beauce-Appalaches is located in Saint-Georges.
Saint-Georges-Est, Aubert-Gallion, and Saint-Jean-de-la-Lande merged in 2002. It is home to one of the few inflatable dams, which were built to increase the water level of the Chaudière River for water-based activities and to beautify the riverbank.
